'I Wanna Be Adored' is the atmospheric opener to The Stone Roses' self-titled debut. Ian Brown sings about wanting to be 'adored', capturing the bands' sense of youthful invincibility and ambition, although Brown has always maintained the song is actually about sin and how individuals would do anything to become idolised. As irony would have it, the track did just that for them, charting at number 20 in the UK in 1991 when it was released as their third single.
